SKIP TO 35:08 IF YOU ONLY WANT TO SEE THE CANYON

This video shows an off-road drive south of Issyk-Kul and through the Aksay (Ak-Sai) Canyon, also known as the Canyon of the Forgotten Rivers. The route starts at our camping spot on the shore of Issyk-Kul near the highly saline "Dead Lake", called Tuz-Kol (Туз-Көл). From there we cross several dry rivers, some of which may be challenging, depending on your vehicle. In the second half of the video we drive through the very scenic Aksay Canyon. We finish in Aksay Village near the EM-10 (ЭМ-10).

If you want to visit the canyon, the easiest route is to drive from Aksay Village into the canyon. So that's the other way around compared to the route in this video.
