Welcome to another beautiful journey with Ghumakkad Jodi! ❤️

Today, we travelled to one of the most breathtaking natural destinations near Almaty — Big Almaty Lake (BAO), located high in the mountains of Kazakhstan.

Situated approximately 30–40 km from Almaty city, this beautiful alpine lake is surrounded by spectacular mountains and untouched natural landscapes. The journey itself is an experience, but what makes this place truly special is the peaceful atmosphere you feel once you reach the lake.

???? The Trek & Mountain Journey
Walking through the mountain surroundings and trekking towards the lake was one of the highlights of our visit. The fresh mountain air, beautiful landscapes and changing views along the way make the journey just as memorable as the destination.

???? The Silence of Big Almaty Lake
And then comes the moment when you finally see the lake!

The view was absolutely mesmerizing. The calm blue-green water surrounded by massive mountains creates a picture-perfect landscape. What surprised us the most was the peace and silence — no unnecessary crowd, no city noise, just mountains, nature and complete tranquility.

❄️ Big Almaty Lake in Winter
Our guide also told us how dramatically the landscape changes during winter. With heavy snowfall, the surrounding mountains become covered in snow and the lake can freeze, creating a completely different, almost magical white landscape.

If you love mountains, nature, trekking, peaceful destinations and breathtaking landscapes, Kazakhstan is definitely a destination worth exploring.
