Ybyraikhan Mussabayev, a Kazakh pensioner from the Kyzylorda region, has been acclimating exotic plants for the past 15 years. His garden is home to tropical fruits and flowers that thrive in temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. In addition to rare shrubs like peacock flower and wisteria, he also grows pomegranates and even palm trees. These tropical plants have adapted well to the region’s arid climate.
