One mission today: get Kairos accepted by the freight company in Aktau and send her 2,500km across Kazakhstan to Shymkent. What starts with me hunting down Jet Logistic turns into another reminder of the extraordinary kindness I've encountered in Kazakhstan — including Yolan, who takes charge of the bike and even drives me back to my hotel.

Then it's my turn to leave Kazakhstan temporarily: a 3am flight, a long journey back to the UK, a slightly alarming police robot dog at Aktau Airport, and one important stop at customs to make absolutely sure Kairos can legally remain in the country on her temporary import while I'm away.

The motorcycle and I are travelling separately for now — but the round-the-world journey is far from over. Next stop: reunited in Shymkent and back on the road east.
