What looks like solid rock in this abandoned mine… could actually be hiding a deadly drop.

In this underground exploration, we venture deep into the abandoned Comet Mine filled with unstable false floors, hidden shafts, and collapsing tunnels. While navigating twisting haulage passages lined with homemade ore cart tracks, we begin noticing something unusual above us—layers of old timber and debris forming deceptive “floors” suspended overhead. These false floors, built from branches and rock a century ago, once supported mining operations—but today, they pose a serious hidden danger.

Further inside, we uncover a massive ore chute, an old hoisting system with a functioning control lever, and a vertical winze so deep the bottom disappears into darkness. At one point, ore cart tracks cross a deep shaft and lead straight into a collapse—highlighting the dangerous conditions miners worked under.

Along the way, we encounter cave-ins, backfilled tunnels, fault lines in the rock, and even a second portal partially sealed by collapse. Every section of this mine tells a story of early mining techniques—and the risks that came with them.
