After spending time in Kyrgyzstan, I traveled 26 hours to Astana, Kazakhstan for one important reason: to cast my vote in the Czech parliamentary elections.

This journey took me across borders, onto one of the longest train rides I've ever done, and into one of Central Asia's most fascinating capitals. Along the way, I explored Astana, met amazing people, practiced my Russian, and reflected on why participating in democracy matters to me, even while traveling full-time.
